The City contracts with Waste Management to provide curb side garbage pick-up once each week for single family dwellings and some other residences and facilities with special needs (as when there is not space for a dumpster at an apartment complex). Residents pay a $20 per month garbage fee which is included on the water and sewer bill.  If you have recently moved to Montevallo and need to set up an account please contact the Water & Sewer Board to set up both your Water Account and your Garbage Service Account.

Waste Management collects garbage on Friday in the City of Montevallo.  In the event this schedule is changed due to a holiday please see the alternate schedule listed as a news item on our home page or call (205) 665-2555.

All garbage must be placed in garbage bags inside a roll out cart provided by Waste Management and the roll out carts must be brought to the curb for pick up.  Garbage will not be picked up if water-logged or scattered. We ask that residents keep cans behind or to the side of the house for a neater appearance.

The City also provides leaf and limb pick-up for garbage customers at curb side on a rotating schedule throughout the City. Residents should separate leaves and clippings from brush. Streets and gutters should not be blocked or obstructed.
