Montevallo is a pedestrian and cycling friendly community. Many of the community’s favorite specialty merchants and restaurants are located on Main Street. In 2003, the Capital City Wanderers put Montevallo on the American Volkssport Association map by working with residents, businesses and the Montevallo Chamber of Commerce to develop a comprehensive 6 mile self-guided walking tour of Montevallo which highlights the many notable landmarks in Downtown Montevallo. Enjoy it all by taking the Capital City Wanderers Tour of Montevallo. Tour the University of Montevallo Campus to absorb the history of the college and the beauty of the campus. Or check into the college events calendar for an art show (Bloch Hall Art Gallery), a concert (LeBaron Hall), a lecture (Martha Allen Lecture Series) or a play (Palmer Auditorium or Reynolds Theatre).

Join Montevallians as they relax and play in our City Parks. Take in a sporting event at the high school or college. Play 18 holes of golf at the city golf course. Enjoy historic attractions like Brierfield Ironworks Historical State Park, Aldrich Coal Mine Museum and The American Village.
