In accordance with Section 11-43-50 of the Legislature of Alabama, the Montevallo City Council will during its regular monthly meeting conduct a Public Hearing on Monday September 9, 2024 at 6:00 pm at 541 Main Street in Montevallo, Alabama, for the purpose of acting on the following item:

Final "Friday Nights at the Cove" Set for July 26th!
Join us for our final Friday Nights at the Cove of the season on July 26 at Owl's Cove Park! Family-friendly, free admission. It's the perfect way to kick off your weekend. Storm Shelter #2 is NOW OPEN. It is located at 20 James Jones Dr., Montevallo. - To access, Enter off of Island St. and park near the shelter.
The Shelters will remain OPEN until it is safe for citizens to return home. Be Weather Aware and Weather Prepared! Tune in to the local weather stations for the most up-to-date information.

NOTICE: City Hall and the Parnell Memorial Library to CLOSE at 5:00 PM today (4/2/24) due to inclement weather. Any meetings to be held today will be rescheduled at a later date.
STORM SHELTERS: Once a "Tornado Watch" has been issued for Shelby County, Shelters #1 and #2 will open and remain open until it is safe for citizens to return home. Please be safe, prepared, and weather aware.

Montevallo FREE Dump Day - SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, March 30, 2024!
The City of Montevallo will be participating in Shelby County Alabama's FREE Landfill Day for residents. Bring trash to Montevallo’s Recycling Center (1120 Overland Rd) from 7am to 1:30pm.
***NOTE*** Have items to the Recycling Center by 1:30PM so they can get to the Landfill on TIME!***
You may take your items directly to the Shelby County Landfill. The Shelby County Highway 70 Landfill is located at 401 Landfill Road, just off Highway 70 between Columbiana and Calera. We cannot accept Hazardous waste, tires, batteries, or liquids of any type.

Presidents' Day Holiday
City Hall will be closed on Monday, February 19th, in observance of Presidents' Day.
The Recycling Center will be closed on Saturday, February 17th, and Monday, February 19th.

New Restrooms in Orr Park
New Restrooms in Orr Park made possible by Shelby County Alabama Parks & Recreation Grant and Montevallo Development Cooperative District (MDCD) Funding.
Crews will begin demolition of the restroom building in Orr Park later this week. This will affect the walking track in the area of the large pavilion. -- Sections of the walking path will temporarily be closed to complete this work. Construction of a new restroom facility will begin soon. Thanks for your patience during this process.

NOTICE: Road Work 12.29.23
NOTICE: Friday, December 29, 2023 - Crews will begin milling (paving preparation) on Tecumseh Street and Creek Street Friday morning (12/29) and Road Paving to follow (weather permitting).
Please DO NOT PARK on Tecumseh Street or Creek Street on Friday, December 29th while road work is being done.
The project should be completed late Friday. If the project is extended notices will be updated. Thank you for your patience.

Montevallo's National Night Out - Tuesday, October 17th, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM in Orr Park Pecan Grove/ Island Street.

Shelby County Free Dump Day Saturday, October 7th, 2023
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, October 7, 2023! The City of Montevallo will be participating in Shelby County Alabama's FREE Landfill Day for residents.
